With effect from 01 Jun 2026, the enhanced Garima Grant of ₹25,000/- will be disbursed by a single agency, IAFBA, to the NOK on the demise of an Air Veteran. Accordingly, the earlier arrangement of payment of Ex-Gratia Grant of ₹7,500/- by AFA and Garima Grant of ₹15,000/- by IAFBA stands discontinued.

All applications for Garima Grant are henceforth to be forwarded directly to IAFBA or routed through the respective AFA Branches for necessary action.

Family Assistance Scheme

IAFBA through FAS provides monthly financial support at stipulated rates to the bereaved families of the serving and retired AF personnel (members) on demise for 15 years (for death in service) or 08 years (for death after retirement).
